Furrytail Dog Grooming's Terms and Conditions
Furrytail Dog Grooming's Terms and Conditions
At Furrytail Dog Grooming we operate strictly by appointment only.
A deposit of £20 per dog is required to book your dog’s grooming appointment. It will be deducted from the cost of the groom. Customers have 24 hours to send your deposit, after being allocated an appointment. After the 24 hours if payment not received the appointment will be offered to the next customer. Please give us 48 hours notice if you need to cancel your appointment , failure to do this will result in the deposit being lost. When more than 48 hours notice is given the deposit is transferable to a rescheduled appointment. The deposit in non-refundable, although we do understand that emergencies and situations beyond our control can happen.
Please toilet your dog before attending their appointment to avoid any accidents. Please do this before arriving at my premises. Any dog that toilets inside the salon will incur an extra fee if it requires an additional bath.
All customers are responsible for keeping their dog up to date with their vaccinations and should also ensure they have regular flea and worm treatments.
DO NOT bring your dog to an appointment if it has fleas or if you suspect it has fleas or if it has an untreated itchy skin condition. If your dog has a flea or tick infestation we will ask that you reschedule your grooming appointment until after the flea or tick problem has been fully treated. If fleas are found on your dog we can bathe your dog in a flea shampoo and will have to treat the salon, which will incur a £30 charge per dog.
Removal of matting is essential in the treatment and prevention of hotspots, sores, fungal and bacterial infections, yeast infections, flea infestations, mites, lice, maggot infestation, urine and faeces scalding, severe itching, scratching and redness. We reserve the right to shave the coat very short in order to properly groom a matted coat. Length of shaved coat will slightly, vary case by case, depending on matts. This treatment is not routine and your dog may look very different afterwards with the hair being very short and potentially close to the skin. This may expose pre-existing skin complaints. We will seek the owner’s consent before carrying out such procedures. Matted coat shave downs will not be accepted for routine scheduled grooms.
All prices quoted before the dog has arrived for its appointment are “starting from” prices. (All quoted prices assume that the dog’s coat is well maintained, free from knots and matts, the dog is well behaved, shows no aggression, is groomed at our recommended intervals and the dog is not overweight or oversized for the breed.)
All charges are payable before you leave the salon with your dog.
We reserve the right to turn away clients that are over 15 minutes late for their appointment. Customers who are more than 15 minutes late will be classed as a late cancellation. The appointment and deposit will be forfeited.
Please be on time for the collection time that is communicated to you on drop off. A fee of £5 will be charged for every 15 minutes late you are for collection.
Owners MUST inform us if your dog bites, has bitten or is aggressive to people, other pets or specific grooming procedures. Your attention is drawn to the Dangerous Dogs Act, which holds owners liable for bites and injuries caused by their dogs. We reserve the right to refuse or stop the groom of your dog at any time before or during the grooming process, and full or part of the grooming charge may apply. Furrytail Dog Grooming highly recommends your dog is insured. If your dog should bite, the owner agrees to be responsible for any and all related medical bills, recovery costs, loss of income and equipment damage.
It is important that you inform us of any health problems that your dog may have. Grooming sick and elderly dogs will be at the owner’s risk but we reserve the right to refuse to groom a dog if we consider that a dog is too unwell to proceed.
The client gives Furrytail Dog Grooming permission to obtain immediate Veterinary treatment for your dog, should it be deemed necessary by us, if you are unavailable to take the dog urgently yourself. We will do our best to contact you first, then take your pet to the nearest Veterinarian available. It is agreed that all expenses for Veterinary care will be covered by the dog’s owner.
There is always the possibility an accident could occur. Grooming equipment is sharp, even though we use extreme caution and care in all situations. Possible problems that could occur include cuts, nicks, scratches and the cutting the quick of the nails. In most cases this can happen when a dog is wriggling or moving around. We make every effort to ensure your dog is groomed as safely as possible, but if your dog does not accept the process I reserve the right to stop the groom, and full or part of the grooming charge may apply.
Please check your dog's groom before you leave, and if there is anything about the groom that you would like altered, please advise us at that time. We are never offended by timely requests to make minor changes, so please ask.
Your dog may be photographed before, during and after its groom. We will use these images for Furrytail Dog Grooming’s records. We may also use these images on Furrytail Dog Grooming’s social media and for advertising/marketing. Most clients enjoy seeing their pet featured. Please let us know beforehand if you do not wish your pet's photos to be made public.
